Bottom Navigation Bar doesn't have the correct height

Current behaviour

The Bottom Navigation Bar doesn't have the correct height, at least compared to the official Material 3 look from other apps (eg. Google Play Store).

Expected behavior

The height should be smaller for the Bottom Navigation Bar.
