Create Event in multiple calendars

Open WhiteTomX opened this issue 11 months ago • 7 comments

Is your proposal related to a problem?

I use cal.com to schedule meetings for different organizations. So I let cal.com create events in the calendars of these organizations (or private ones for that matter). My regular employer uses outlook to schedule meetings. When someone booked a meeting for another organization during my working hours my outlook calendar doesn't know about it and my colleagues may schedule meetings.

Describe the solution you'd like

I would like to be able to add Events to multiple calendars. Even better when I could exclude details in the secondary calendars and/or mark them as private, so my colleagues can only see that I'm away. That may be scoped to specific hours, but having blocker entries in calendars during non working hours wouldn't be that bad.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I thought about creating mailing rules to forward the invitations.

This is something that is available on Doodle... I'd like to migrate (so many ads in Doodle...) but can't without this feature :( I vote for it !

My use case:

I use Google Calendar and Google Workspace. In my Google Workspace, I have Rooms. I can add the Room calendar so cal.com doesn't double-book the room, but I want cal.com to add the bookings to my calendar and the Room calendar so someone else doesn't double-book the room.

If I can cc the Room on every booking, that should work

Just to share a specific example: https://www.onecal.io/calendar-sync

Being able to sync events, or calendars would be helpful to minimize double booking scenarios. As a consultant + personal calendars can easily conflict if they aren't in sync. Pointing multiple automation tools at the calendars is prone to messy errors with state management. Bringing this kind of functionality to a native cal.com supported plugin would be great.
