Strange issue with Edition Python

Open Jeffitus opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

I've been playing for a little over a day on my Edition Python, but earlier today when I ran TI-Boy CE I ran into what I assume was the same issue that the EP and rev M calcs had earlier: white screen, forced to do a full RAM reset. After this it worked fine. I have no idea why this happened; there were no other apps or programs on my calc at the time.

Did you download the new version before or after I updated it? This sounds exactly like the issue I had to hotfix (where TI-Boy would freeze only if used after using the Python app). The broken version was available for a few hours.

I downloaded the updated version, though I agree it sounds very similar.

I'm still waiting for my Edition Python to arrive (the earlier fix was developed thanks to information from our amazing community members), so I'll have to do some first-hand testing sometime soon.

I've figured out a way to reproduce somewhat more reliably: after a RAM reset (reset button held for 3 seconds), if you turn the calculator off and on and select 2 on the Texas Instruments popup thing, TI-Boy CE will work properly (in my case, after installing ASMHOOK throught arTIfiCE). However, once you select 1 (to not show the message again), the program will work, but it will cause the white screen glitch after the next power off/power on. Hope this helps, it seems like a very unusual bug.
