Loki is not receiving log data

No log data is visible in Grafana from Loki

It appears that all the promtail pods are logging an error about loki-gateway not existing. There is no deployment or statefulset existing for it. This component was introduced in a recent Loki version and it's possible that an upgrade was not successful or misconfigured. This ought to be investigated and fixed so that log data can be searched and inspected in the course of diagnosing cluster issues
