Missing Transactions on Transactions screen

Open satrinity402 opened this issue 2 years ago • 9 comments

In my Monero.com wallet, I have fully synched my wallet, and the wallet total balance is correct. However, when I swipe over the Transactions screen, there are only a few transactions that are listed, that add up to significantly less than the total balance on the main screen.

Note: I believe most of the missing transactions are transactions between accounts/subaccounts, and I used the address book feature in Monero.com wallet to retrieve addresses to send between them. The bug may have something to do with that.

When I use Monerujo for example, using the same node, I am able to see all my transactions for that wallet & account.

For clarification, are you using only 1 account or several accounts? You need to switch between accounts to see separated balances per account. This is how Monero works; it's almost like another wallet, but with the same seed. Monero.com does not show the entire balance for all accounts when under one account.

Accounts are different than subaddresses. You can create subaddresses and have the full balance appear under the single account if desired.

Is there a particular reason why you want to use different accounts specifically? Normally, people use subaddresses under the same account for similar use-cases.

Accounts can indeed be confusing. We either run into situations like here where the balance appears missing (but is under a different account, if I understand the situation correctly), or where people try to spend more funds than they can from a single account, but what appears as their entire balance. Most users shouldn't use the accounts feature imo; Wownero dropped them to streamline the UX.

I think you are misunderstanding my issue.

I have a Primary account which holds my entire XMR balance. It has a couple subaccounts. The total balance is for the primary account is accurate, but when I swipe sideways, and I total the transactions by hand, I can clearly see that it's missing transactions, as they should add up to the balance on the main screen (swiping back to the left).

I have a second account, where I generate a new subaddress for every BTC/XMR swap. From this account, I send to my Primary account to consolidate. To get the address of my Primary account, I use the address book feature built into Monero.com wallet. When I switch back to the primary account, I should see a "receive" transaction in the transaction list, but it never comes through. Even though the total balance on the main screen is updated to reflect that I received the transaction.

Does that make sense?

For example, when viewing the transactions for my primary account for the same wallet and the same node on Monerujo, I see all the transactions. Most of the transactions that I see are indeed missing in the Monero.com wallet transaction list.

@satrinity402 can you provide as much info as you can through labeled screenshots to [email protected] please?

Are you only missing transactions that you send to yourself, or are you missing other transactions where you are the recipient from another counterparty (different seed)?

Only missing transactions sent to myself from same seed.

Did a quick analysis, it appears that every single transaction that I sent from my second account to my primary account is missing from the Transactions screen on the primary account.

All other transactions to and from my primary account that were not transfers between accounts are accounted for on the primary account's transaction screen. Note: I believe transactions from the second account were all from subaddresses.

Let me know if you still want those labeled screenshots.

Do you need anything else @SamsungGalaxyPlayer?

Nothing else at the moment. We aim to fix this next release.
