Ethereum wallet completely unusable (Linux)

Open voidastro4 opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Platform Fedora 39 Cake Wallet 4.11.0 from releases page TAR.XZ package.

The latest release makes the ETH wallet completely unusable, with constant error spam: cake

1-2 CPU cores also spike to 100% every 10 seconds for a few seconds.

The previous release (4.10.5) has a usable ETH wallet even though the CPU exhibits similar behavior.

This problem doesn't occur with a Bitcoin wallet, everything appears stable there.

Hi, I run Cake Wallet 4.11.0 on Fedora 39 fine with an Ethereum wallet

Could you run Cake Wallet from the terminal and provide us with any extra errors from there?

Also, do you have any NFTs in your wallet?

Nothing in the terminal.

But in the process of reproducing this I made a discovery.

If I start Cake in a narrow window such that Exchange and Marketplace is not visible I get a single error and it doesn't appear to reoccur.

As soon as I enlarge the window for Exchange and Marketplace to appear the error spam begins.

Furthermore, the CPU usage is not acceptable regardless of error appearance.

Edit: When in a narrow window switching to the Exchange tab error spam begins in the terminal but not on the screen...

I run Cake in a Tor jail. It may screw with some API parser when anti-tor measures by some site trigger perhaps.

Can you try reproducing it again in the latest version and report back?
