configuration input `machine=cga` seems not to have effect

As per title, when i try machine=cga in the dosbox conf, i expect it to get the cga mode, but it does not trigger. The cga mode, as in native dosbox, should let digger start with a different palette ( red/orange/green ).

Is this a known issue? Is cga mode supported?

Do you think is something i can help with? there are not clear 'how to contribute' instructions, it also is unclear to me if all the source code needed to create a working build is inside the repo.
