Optifine support

Open iperrealistico opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

I am working on a combo of resources-shaders to make Minecraft Java Ed. look more RTX-ish and Bedrock-Ish, or at least more polished. Fade in animation as reported in the other ticket would be amazing.

The problem is that I need OptiFine to run shaders, or anything else that is compatible. Are there any alternatives to OF for shaders?

Have you got any update on this project? If this is not dead I would consider donating since you are the only one keeping the original chunk animator alive 😆

Thanks for your interest in my project! I'm a bit pressed for time right now, but if I get around to it, I'll take a crack at the fade-in animations. I'm prioritizing Sodium support over OptiFine because the mod is built directly for fabric and well maintained. You can find a list of alternative mods to various OptiFine features in the gist.

Unfortunately I don't think Iris is currently supporting a lot of shader packs, so I am stuck on Optifine! Hope you will find some time to work on this 😄 I remember the ancient chunk animator working with optifine, but that's like 4 years ago maybe?

At the end I decided to support you with a small donation anyways 😄 Always happy to support projects maintained by skilled people

Gah! Thank you so much for the donation! I'm still quite busy, but I'll try to get around to this mod again! It means a lot to see people intrigued by my small side project, and there's more room for me to add features and learn more about modding. Thank you again!

On the chunk animator mod (basically this mod but supported by Forge) they found that Optifine needed the 'render regions' option disabled in the performance settings. I don't know if this is what causes the full span of issues, however, it might be a step in the right direction. Hope this info helps!
