cabal-desktop
cabal-desktop copied to clipboard
2 channels have the same messages
basically, #cabal displays the conversation of #cabal-dev, and it's impossible to see the actual conversation in #cabal
Steps to reproduce:
- Join cabal://324eee92611cd877841c4de9fd5253e9dba6033329a837ee5f01beb005dffb2f
- Join these channels: #cabal #cabal-desktop #cabal-web #cabal-dev
- Look at the messages in each Current result: The messages in #cabal and #cabal-dev are identical. They both display the same conversation (from #cabal-dev). It's not possible to see messages in #cabal Expected results: Opening #cabal will display that conversation instead of displaying #cabal-dev conversation.
Notes:
- Issue only occurs on Cabal Desktop, not CLI
- Restarting the app doesn't help
- Deleting the ~/.cabal folder doesn't help
- Leaving those channels and rejoining doesn't help.
Interesting variation (but not consistent to reproduce)
- Join cabal://324eee92611cd877841c4de9fd5253e9dba6033329a837ee5f01beb005dffb2f
- If you had joined it before, leave it and delete the database folder
~\.cabal-desktop\v1\324eee92611cd877841c4de9fd5253e9dba6033329a837ee5f01beb005dffb2f
- Then join it and wait to connect and sync messages
- If you had joined it before, leave it and delete the database folder
- Join #cabal
- Look at the messages in #cabal
- Join #cabal-dev
- Look at the messages in #cabal Current result: At step 4, you'll see the actual messages in #cabal. But after step 5, #cabal will show the messages from #cabal-dev Expected results: Opening #cabal will display that conversation instead of displaying #cabal-dev conversation.
