Same issue here. Would love to use this extension in combination with the latest version of Anki. Any idea when this might be fixed? Or, is there any guidance you can provide so that someone else might be able to fix it for you?

for a fix you can remove the problem manualy in your install of the addon in the addonsfolder remote_decs/libs/org_to_anki/converters/BulletPointHtmlConverter.py file delete the line 11 'import chardet' without this line, the menuentry is back
