Error: server 'localhost' not running. when enabling Link

I am not able to connect to a local (same machine) Ableton Live 10 instance. Link is enabled in Ableton Live. When I run the following in Supercollider after installing LinkUGen

Link.enable;

I just get this warning and no connection to Ableton Live is established:

WARNING: server 'localhost' not running.
-> Link

Any hints about how to resolve this? As I am running Supercollider and Live on the same Macbook, it should be fine trying to get to localhost.
