Not able to control/discover devices after upgrading to echo dot 4th gen - HAB 5.4.0
I have recently upgraded my 1st gen echo dot to 4th gen echo dot. All was working fine until i have finally shutdown my 1st gen dot. After that i could no longer control any of the devices (device is not responding check ...). I could not discover any devices from habridge as well. tried few things but nothing would work . If i power on my 1st gen echo (it has to be powered on and on the same netowrk but can be in different room) 4th gen one will again control and find devices. Is there anything I need to do to complete the transition? I want to get rid of 1st gen one but would like to keep my habridge setup
Setup: HABridge ver 5.4.0 Alexa echo dot gen 1 Alexa echo dot gen 4
Are you running the HAbridge on port 80. You can check the error logs in HAbridge, make sure to turn on logging
yes, running on port 80 (container version 5.4.0) attaching debug logs command "Alexa turn device x on", replay from Alexa "device X is not responding check network ..." and nothing happens. hab_logs.txt
There must be some kind of device linking occurring between specific Alexa devices and the ha-bridge.
I have noticed this same behavior but between 4 gen 3 dots. If I do a new scan of ha-bridge devices with 4 dots powered on, one of them seems to act as a bridge by which the other 3 dots connect to the ha-bridge, so if I turn of that dot that's acting as a go-between, i can no longer communicate with the lights etc.
I'm not sure this is by design, of the Alexa devices but that's what happens on my network.
