[Feature request] Bigger favicons
I like collapsing the side panel to show only the icons. However, they are too small to make out properly.
Is it possible collapse to bigger icons?
Skimming some docs it appears that sites do provide multiple sizes for the favicons.
It would be possible to go for bigger icons, say 24px instead of 16px (the tabs themselves are 36px tall).
Only issue is that you'll get blurry icons for most sites. The ideal sizes you would need are 24px for low resolution screens, and 48px for high resolution screens. But most sites only provide a 16px icon. Some do provide bigger icons, but if they only provided a 32px icon it might be not ideal for scaling down to 24px (introduces blurriness) and not great for a 48px target either.
Another issue is that Firefox is currently not great at picking multiple icons, for instance for a page with this code:

<link rel="icon" sizes="32x32" href="/assets/siteicon/32.png">
<link rel="icon" sizes="192x192" href="/assets/siteicon/192.png">
... it will pick the first one, so 16px. I guess there might be a handful of bugs on this topic on bugzilla.
