Touch events, drawer not closing

Using Microsoft Surface.

STR: Use a touch device like Microsoft Surface Have TC in shrink mode navigate to a page other than newtab tap on TC to open the drawer tap on a bank area of the page (not on a link/button or anything that triggers an event)

ER: drawer closes

AR: Drawer stays open until a link or button etc. is pushed

This is due to the mouse cursor remaining ("hovering") over the tab bar after the click (which is expected operation, btw). There should be a global feature to support Surface-like touch devices better by using Touch (or even better, Pointer) Events.
