Refactor + Zotero 7 compatibility

  1. I'd like to simplify the code structure to be more performant, based on the design used by PMID Fetcher.
  2. The plugin needs to be updated for Zotero 7 compatibility.

@retorquere Do you think you could help me to refactor this plugin using PMID Fetcher as a template?

Sure -- I'm going through my plugins, and one (the simplest admittedly) is fully done, so I have some experience. Shortdoi shouldn't be substantially more complex than that.
