Sync installed Plugins across multiple computers

An idea from Jared Volpe.

Could potentially link to the user's Dropbox to store a simple text file of installed plugins, which Sketch Toolbox can then reference.

(I want to get all the basics squared away before working on this, of course)

Awesome! This is how Sublime does it: https://sublime.wbond.net/docs/syncing#dropbox-osx

Interesting. Doing something like that wouldn't even require Sketch Toolbox to do anything special. It's basically just fooling Sublime into thinking that it's Packages folder is in it's default location, while in reality it's stored in Dropbox.

I'm not entirely sure that Sketch will be able to do the same, considering it's Sandboxed, but it's worth a shot. I'll attempt later today!

So I tried this out and it will not work with the App Store version.

Gonna attempt to do an alternate setup (still with Dropbox) later on!

For the record: currently you cannot use symlinks / aliases in Sketch's plugins folder. This is a known issue, and we'll try to get it fixed in an upcoming release.

Awesome! That'll open up a number of interesting possibilities!

Any news on this? Sketch 3.3.3 gives me an error that it doesn't have permission to access the symlinked/aliased folder in Dropbox.

Edit: App seems to be working when Plugins Folder is synced across Dropbox! Also asking for news on this feature now that linking Sketch's plugins to dropbox is an option.
