...or http://www.appimage.org. Projects like MuseScore, Krita, and Scribus are already using it for distribution of nightlies and/or releases. The advantage is that you can reach users of many Linux distributions and not just Ubuntu.

that's portable app, it isn't an install. Portable nwjs takes forever to load.

I'd be really surprised if speed was an issue. Other AppImages are not slow...
