No output with UTF-16 files

For a file which file reports as : Little-endian UTF-16 Unicode text, with CRLF line terminators lolcat produces no output at all. Any setting I need to tweak?

Encoding problems are unfortunately notoriously difficult to reproduce and fix. lolcat uses standard ruby I/O primitives, meaning if your shell and terminal are configured correctly then it should normally deal with encoding transparently.

If you can provide a full test-case (test-file, output of locale, env, ruby --version and lolcat --version as well as what terminal emulator you're using) then we may be able to figure something out.
