Assigning dates without the calculator doing it's thing

Hi! I love the app so far. Is there a way to input numbers without the calculator calculating? I want to put down dates like 8/9 or 8-9 or really whatever works, without the calculator calculating anything. Is this already possible? Thank you so much!
