Add support for the `--greedy` flag for outdated package and updating

Open buresdv opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

As mentioned in #348, the --greedy flag forces homebrew to also update casks that have their auto_updates set in the definition.

This flag should be added for:

  • Getting outdated packages
  • Updating outdated packages

Considerations

  • Many users won't want this, so disable it by default. Could be enabled in the Packages pane of the Settings

Perfect summary @buresdv! Thanks for considering.

I can't wait to see this option in the next update

Hello, are there still plans to add this option? It looks like Cork isn’t showing any updates, but Homebrew is ready to upgrade my casks.

Yes, this is still planned. I'll probably start working on it soon, the last few updates were mostly internal changes to clean up the code, and I’ll slowly start adding requested features again

Thank you! At the moment, this is a bit of a blocker for me when using the app, and I do feel a little regret about purchasing the compiled version. However, I still believe it’s a good investment for the future 🙂
