Overlapping in some cases

Hello David,

in some rare cases there is an overlap.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to https://js-rubha9.stackblitz.io (link to js: https://stackblitz.com/edit/js-rubha9?file=index.html )
2. Change radio button "layout" to "compact"
3. Expand node 177
4. Then expand nodes 2 -> 3 -> 4 -> 34 -> 40

Is this a small bug or are we doing something wrong?
