I wanted this feature for my B2 archive so at least until this feature is implemented I created a simple utility which can be used with `rclone`. See https://github.com/bulletmark/b2restore.

My installer uses `strip -p --strip-unneeded`.
GNOME 48 officially released on Arch today so this change is somewhat pressing.
I, like most I suspect, only install from https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/615/appindicator-support/ which has not been updated.

Probably should just add `setuptools` to the dependencies of `nbdev`, at least until this issue is addressed properly. I and many others use [`uv`](https://github.com/astral-sh/uv) which doesn't install `setuptools` in the...
On checking, I find that the 20240725 builds are labelled as `-install_only_stripped` but are actually the unstripped binaries.
