`IfcPostalAddress` used in concept template `Site attributes`

Open pjanck opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

IfcPostalAddress is deprecated, but still used by the concept template Site attributes:

https://github.com/buildingSMART/IFC4.3.x-development/blob/935c8a22db7379f04ee037ce2de9ba7b91eb99e2/docs/templates/Object%20Attributes/Object%20Occurrence%20Attributes/Spatial%20Element%20Attributes/Site%20Attributes/README.md?plain=1#L16-L25

Request to revise the concept template. I have no idea, where does the concept template come from (it isn't part of the IFC4 ADD2 TC1 as far as I see), or why is it like this, thus I am unable to make any educated proposals, how to address this (pun unintended).

Three options:

  • Adjust template
  • Remove template [how useful is this anyway? Isn't it a bit misleading/uninformative to have RefLatitude/-Longitude in there without informing users of the more powerful georeferencing methods?]
  • Remove all "xyz attributes" concepts, because they overlap so strongly with the schema, are (apparently) hard to keep up to date, and in the light of the recent MVD discussions don't make as much sense anymore as before in terms of mechanisms to turn on or off.
