I wouldn't count that they answer. Maybe ask GitHub "direct". But as a non-enterprise user I only know the [Community-Forum](https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/) as an option to ask someone "official".
You are the maintainer. It is up to you to modify PRs or review them. No problem with that.
I would recommend using the high-level API `pathlib.Path.resolve()` instead of low-level `os.path`.
I posted that to the usb-modeswitch forum. After some diagnosis it seams like that the firmware oft that chip is buggy. No solution yet.
I think for the `v5.8.1` branch is should be done and documented (#8)in the README.md. `# dkms install ./` This worked for me.
Can you help me here? I changed what you requested. But GitHub still mark this PR as "changes requested". Can you deal with it?

Thanks for asking back. I switch to another operating system. I'm now using an original Debian (but special) image for Pi's from http://raspi.debian.net/
I have the same issue on a fresh and up-to-date Debian unstable on a Samsung N220 netbook where I build RetroPie from scratch with the RetroPie-setup script. And after checking...
Thanks for your detailed description. But I am not using a Pi. I am using a Netbook with Atom (Single Core) CPU.
