Extension broken in vscode linux 1.52.1

The extension stopped working on my Linux computer. Now every time I use the open in GitHub command it does nothing. I do not even get an error message in the developer console (see the gif below). This behaviour is also present in the insider version.

Still broken in 1.60.2.

Still broken in 1.63.2. I assume this extension is no longer maintained. For future reference, I found the following alternative that seems to work perfectly.
