Sending image message via rest api

Hello guys, is there any way to send message with an attachment (image) via rest api? It's possible with a chat in wordpress, but I don't see any opportunity to do that with api.

Hi ! We will do it in the BP Attachments plugin we’re working on. The endpoints in place here can only help you to set profile/cover images for a group or a member.

This is a great news I have been waiting for this too, please make sure the path of the uploaded image will be returned in the HTTP response if possible
