Adding youtube videos to Video Gallery just gives "This type is not supported."

Creating a site-wide Video gallery, I have oEmbed activated, I paste in a URL to a youtube video in the textbox and add, then it just gives "This type is not supported." How do I fix this?

The same thing happens when I try to add an external image to the image galleries it gives "Not supported."

Literally, any youtube video that exists, ANY video does not work, Public, Private, Child safe, Comments on or off, I spent hours trying as many videos as I could.

How do I turn on debug to see the actual error message instead of this vague one?

Hi Tom, It may be an issue with sitewide gallery. Can you please tell me if you have BuddyPress enabled or not? Just need that before testing. It is most probably a bug in our implementation as we did not confirm this with sitewide gallery.

Thank you

Hi, Please make sure these 2 pages have the type enabled.

  1. MediaPress->Settings->General, Please make sure "Video" is ticked here and the option that provides for file type has the relevant file type included

If possible, Please share me a screenshot of the MediaPress General settings page.

This has always been checked. The filetypes are the defaults mp4,flv,mpeg

whats needed for Youtube?

There shouldn't be a reason to need to check a youtube URL for what format it's saved in by youtube, they will most likely change this over time.

Please can you make embedding videos via URLS not require a format check so we can get this working.
