GUI to upload example
I am guessing that the community would love to contribute back to the engine. Is it possible to enable a GUI element to submit example fract files for inclusion in next release? I believe this enables us all to grow and align our ideas. Any thoughts?
About examples, I think we should already look what we already have and remove many examples which quality is not so good and add missing examples for transforms and effects. If community start to add many examples, quality will go lower. Even now anybody can tell us to include settings to examples or do this through GitHub (pull request).
a) I have just looked at the dropbox openCL vrs c++ images and agree that existing examples need to be overhauled, with some removed. Probably needs to be divided into something like Formulas, Hybrids, Transforms and Effects. It is a major job!! b) Vetting examples supplied by others would be time consuming work. The program is still in a devopment stage where time is the most important resource, best spent on implementation and bug catching. c) I would suggest Mandelbulber.org would be a better place for user supplied examples to be stored.. Many of my zipped example folders stored there are just a collection of settings with no care put into ensuring quality.
