Is this project unmaintained?
They are some pull requests and some issues has not been fixed (https://github.com/btubbs/sseclient/issues/28#issuecomment-2276316306)
Any alternative?
As a workaround I am looking at https://github.com/mpetazzoni/sseclient and so far it has not introduced the bug.
I've fixed the issues by the looks of things but I am running a test for the next few hours just streaming the RC feed to see if the problem shows up or not. I don't have the ability to push to pypi sadly or I would update the version there. @btubbs can you add me or?
This project has been largely unmaintained for the past couple of years and I do apologize for that. I have merge rights though so I have put a couple patches through this morning that were long overdue.
@pi3ch I am breathing some life back into resolving issues folks have flagged here. This library should now have what you flagged fixed but you'd have to install from GitHub as while I can merge here I can't publish. Another patch coming tomorrow most likely as well.
@TheSandDoctor I'm not sure if you're flogging a dead horse.
Pywikibot has switched to requests-sse, see https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T309380#10304093 for the selection decision.
@xqt you could be right but this project is still publicly available and I want to leave it in a less broken state at a minimum. I've already accomplished that with some of the PRs merged and another I'm working on, which is for a transient but annoying bug. I just wish that I hadn't been so busy in 2024 and had time to look at this...but on the other hand, I can't push upstream either so I don't know whether that would've saved it for Pywikibot. :/
