Does the environment variable `DOCKER_RAMDISK` helps for this? Introduced in the PR https://github.com/moby/moby/pull/4519. Also there is a mention of this variable in the [Engine release notes](https://docs.docker.com/engine/release-notes/prior-releases/#runtime-36) - probably needs docs...
