User Profiles not being created with new submissions

Open chayner opened this issue 14 years ago • 1 comments

I submitted a Have Stuff and a Need Time with the same email. It created a user for me (in sfUser), but it did not create a user profile. Should it have?

Now that we have all of the contact information built into the resource model, do we still need a complex user profile? Or is this a later phase item (when we allow / require people to create accounts)?

It wouldn't have created a Profile by default, but we could force that and it might not be a bad idea - if we ever needed to do any raw data collection on a profile field later, it'd get all weird if some of the records don't have a profile.

On the profile side, if it has value, which I marginally think it does, it's that we can autofill form values based on their profile. If they created a resource, we could save that info to Resource and profile, and then autofill the next Resource form from the profile.

That's obviously not mission critical.
