Unable to Translate Username to Email
Tableau On-premise server to Tableau Online migration requires username translation to email ID Code given in replicate_site_structure_sample.py is not working. How do we translate the replace the username to email?
Can you explain a bit more about what you'd like it to be doing? Part of the reason that sample code is commented out is that every organization may need slightly different logic to map the existing users to the usernames.
Are you wanting to use the e-mail addresses as were stored in the Tableau Server and have that swap in when adding them to Tableau Online?
Good morning - I see that this thread did not continue, however I'm in need of a similar function and am unsure of how to proceed. Most of our users have no email address entered in our Tableau server. What I need to do is set the users' email addresses and don't quite know where to look for the proper syntax for that. I've tried a u.set('email', email) (where u = t.users.query_user( user_luid) and email is a valid email address) with no success. I appreciate any help you can offer in pointing me in the right direction. Thanks - rlm
