Local GPIO Control

Well before I go and start modifying this. Has anyone added code to control this locally from a GPIO pin as a toggle switch with MQTT state update?

Thinking of using this as a controller for Kitchen under cabinet lighting and if I can add a switch for local control, that would go over a lot easier...
