(Would be nice if it also took into account whatever debounce is built in on keystroke so I actually know when the request is going)

There actually is one. It's a gently undulating blue bar below the search field. But I've been thinking it's too subtle, and this issue confirms that.

Oh! Yeah, the undulation is too subtle, and it may also be too thin to really notice? Does it trigger as soon as you type, or only once it actually begins the search?
