[Bug]: Gracefully handle hardware changes while running

What happened?

Apparently when AMD 9950X enters in "boost mode" and goes from 16 cores to 8 conky crashes

60% of conky code crashes if one modifies hardware while it's running. While keeping your initial point as primary target of the issue, I'll repurpose it towards handling HW changes more gracefully in general. Thankfully, there's still not that many in a computer :)
