Thanks for your detailed issue report, although this isn't actually a WoeUSB issue (we don't really control which version of wimlib we use) we might be able to work around...

Another (less helpful) approach is to detect incompatible wimlib versions and error out straight away to force the users to upgrade their wimlib installation.
