The next update has to ship before Firefox 66 (March 19th) and will contain a workaround for xml:base removal. Possibly something else, depending on what I'll manage by that date.

In the current Nightly feeds fail to show images if the image URLs are relative (so https://source.example/assets/image.png is ok, but just /assets/image.png is not). This has to be fixed as there are feeds using these relative URLs.

Can you please also look afer the issue described in the issue: "Frefox will not exit cleanly". Thanks in advance (Brief is my favourite RSS-reader, but since FF 64 there are problems...)

The next release will be 2.6.0. Hope to have it done in two weeks; worst case is around May 12th as I'll have a week or so of time dedicated to Brief in the beginning of May.

Not wishing to appear ungrateful for the work/effort committed to the WX, just wondering whether there is news considering the recent repo commits?

The primary thing that needs to be done is feed preview / subscription for the broken cases. Once it's done, I'll release a beta version and a release in a few days after. Hope to have it done this week. Sorry, I've underestimated the amount of work required :-(

Is the site https://persoenlichblog.wordpress.com/ also one of the subscriptions for broken cases? I'm asking because I can subscribe to this site, but I can't get feed content.

@Freudentaumel From a quick test it seems to work (I subscribed and could see the text content of the entries). Could you describe the problem in more detail?

@tanriol Unfortunately, I cannot explain the problem in more detail than: ~ Subscribed page about the feed icon ~ Page "Gerhards Gedankenbuch" appears in the feed list ~ Contents are not retrieved

Maybe it's because I still can't really decide permanently for Brief and have deactivated Brief every now and then. I manually unsubscribed the individual feeds in the Feed list Feed for Feed.

I'd probably not, they don't look like possible causes (and may break other extensions too). Can your Brief subscribe to other feeds and get items from them?

I tested it with two other feeds and it worked.

The feed "Gerhards Gedankenbuch" was a test with my own blog. So it's not important for me that it works on my computer - it's important that others can subscribe to it.

The initial alpha version of Brief 2.6.0 has been signed and uploaded to Github. If you're brave and reckless enough, I'll appreciate bug reports about it.

One bug is that it interacts badly with discarded tabs. Going to disable it for now and release the next alpha tomorrow.
