Developers for Brief
I would be interested to know how many developers are currently actively working on the development of Brief.
I have the personal impression that development is not really progressing at the moment.
At the moment there's about zero of us, yes. I've got a batch of minor internal updates that needs to be completed, but I need to find a few days for that.
Having other people interested in Brief would be nice, actually, but even on my own I'll be keeping Brief working for me and for my use cases, and fixing the significant bugs I can reproduce.
That's basically very sad, tanriol, that you forced to work alone on Brief. My knowledge - and my interest in IT - is not enough to help.
I can understand very well that you design Brief in such a way that it primarily corresponds to your interests. I can only ask you in trouble. I beg your understanding.
It would be a loss if at some point Briefs were not to be further developed or even discontinued.

Hello tanriol,
Have you already come to the smaller internal updates? If yes: Can you name them?
Will there be an update of the current version 2.5.8 soon?
Thank you very much for your efforts and your answers. Gerhard
Hi tanriol, much appreciate you work on Brief. You make the best RSS reader.
Hello tanriol,
I'd like to ask you nicely if you could answer my last message these days.
Thank you Gerhard
Sorry, guys, I have a deadline that needs to be dealt with first. The current state of the code is in the devel
branch.
Sorry, but I don't understand the development branch - especially since the dates are months ago.
It would be enough for me if you could tell me if there will be an update for version 2.5.8 soon.
So much to do that there's no time to answer? Maybe there is still a small time window to answer (friendly and understanding smile).
I hope to make a 2.6.0 release in a few weeks.
Thank you very much for your quick reply and good luck and success for the update.
Would it be possible to integrate an acceleration of manual updating of feeds?
Sorry for asking again: Is the update already on the home straight?
In order to use Brief again, it would be very important to me if the manual reloading of new feed inputs were accelerated by default. Compared to other readers it is quite slow.
Hope to have a beta version of the next update by next week.
I am not a developer and have no experience in this area. Can I also use this beta update in everyday operation?
Will this update include the default acceleration when retrieving new feed entries?
Hello, Denis,
could you give me a little in-between information about my last comment?
Many thanks in advance Gerhard
Hi, Denis,
you don't seem to have much time to develop Brief right now.
I wish you soon a little more time for the development of Brief.
Best regards Gerhard
