Macos26 Audio stops after idle and killall coreaudioid not working? Any suggestions for where to fix?
Hi, connected LG monitor through HDMI, to mac mini. audio dies after period of idle. I have gone through all the other options. but tried other eqtools software, but not working.
Was there a change in MacOS 26 that broke the plugin?
I have to shutdown and poweron the whole device back on to bring audio back.
I also have tried the sudo killall command, and even after service restart, the audio does not come through.
Does opening Proxy Audio Device Settings and changing the buffer size to a different value and back again get audio working again?
I set it to the max buffer size, and its weird, cause it cuts off after like 15 to 20 mins of idle on the mac mini. and then no sound returns. (no sleep/no screensaver. the machine is just running, but and toggled setting is for it to be always on)
It's possible you're experiencing the same issue as #19 . The question is, when the audio stops working, what happens if you change the buffer size setting to something different (it can be any value other than what it's currently on) and then change it back again? Does that cause audio to start working again, at least temporarily?
Nope. doesnt come back at all after toggling between buffer sizes.
I'm afraid I'm at a loss to what could be causing this. I haven't tested the driver in macOS 26 so far. It's possible something in the system is preventing it from working, but I can't really say.
Same issue after upgrade to 26
