Query params aren't considered while looking for a matching route. Won't it be better practice to let your index script directly receive the necessary parameters? Otherwise you could try to append your refid like this http://www.xyz.com/dfvvjvnvrff or this http://www.xyz.com/refid=dfvvjvnvrff.

In case you have an Apache / Nginx webserver you can simply create virtualhosts to create independent projects. Otherwise, you can simply take a look at Superglobals in PHP
