Safari 9 has been released, and should be tested accordingly.

Sadly, I think this just needs a PR to change the 8.1s to 9.1s. Based on my brief tests, nothing had changed—at least nothing under font-feature-settings or font-variant-*.

@kennethormandy These features are being better supported in iOS 9.3 and OS X 10.11.4 as per this WebKit blog post.
