Rendering bug with transparent doors
“TNT: Evilution” has doors with windows in them, allowing to see what’s on the other side. Cool feature but I found unwanted behaviour.
When standing in the distance the space behind the doors behaves as if there was no texture behind, thus rendering ceiling.
On smaller distance it is okay and we can see bookshelf.
It’s here on map:
Map 21, Doom Retro 2.2.2.
Hmm... This bug also occurs when opening one of the doors to this room. And it also occurs in both Chocolate Doom and PrBoom+.
Well, at least PrBoom+ 2.5.1.5 has this bug fixed...
Actually, just tested this again in PrBoom+ 2.5.1.5 (software renderer, of course), and the bug is most certainly still there.
I tested on TNT under Dosbox and it's kinda the same as Chocolate Doom. Actually in the original TNT if you stand in the middle of the chair, the glitch goes away. But in Chocolate Doom it still shows. You have to step higher (on the arms of the chair or the back) for it to go away. So it is not 100% the same between original and Chocolate Doom I believe.
Is this some node building weirdness?
