Support Markdown in Annotations

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

It would be a great enhancement if you could specify some formatting in Annotations -- maybe through use of Markdown commands which pass any requirements for being text-like and human readable, even if not rendered as markdown.

An Annotation text content could contain markdown commands, which would then be rendered as Markdown...

Describe alternatives you've considered

Just using plain old text at the moment.

Pretty interesting idea 👍 I will move this to the backlog as it's not on our Roadmap. We are open for contributions though 🙂
