Issue

For RivieraDEV conference we uses 2 events:

  • JUDCon
  • RivieraDEV

After I've submitted to JUDCon a talk I can see in the left menu the JUDcon submissions unspecified-3

I can not see the other conference RivieraDEv submisssions, if I enter the URL I can see it but in the menu JUDCon has disappear

unspecified-2

Expected behavior

We should have 2 sections in the left bar one for each open event I've submitted to.

Indeed "My submissions" page contains all speaker submissions related to the current event.

But I don't think it's possible to have each event in the left bar. Because, in the hosted version (conference-hall.io) you could have submitted to 10 open events or more. We need a solution that can scale.

Today the best way to see all your submissions (on opened and closed events) is "My talks" page.

But there may have other possibilities to improve this:

  • Quickly change from an event to another, or search for an event
  • A speaker dashboard with pending submissions (and we could have other metrics on this page)

I still looking for a good speaker UX that can scale with lot of events. I'm also not satisfied of the current flow, I may need an UX designer to help about it 😛

To help the user understand the initial talk created is a "draft" before being submitted (ie: push to a conference and being visible to organizers), I'd propose 2 main chnages:

  • talk creation / submission flow
  • display of the list for my talk / my submission

See below in image:

  1. talk creation should be seen as first step of the submission. After all, when you create a talk, the main goal is to submit it. It would be nice to capture the submission flow earlier on. I'd include the creation of the talk as very first step of the submission. Once you've completed the talk details (abstract, speakers selection) you could have the option to save the talk (which is equivalent to a draft) or submit it. If later on you update the talk you'll be bring to the wizard again. talk_cretion_included_in_wizard

  2. my talk / my submit linked In the list of talsk you can see associated submission. Instead of displaying "2 submitted", display the name of the conference it was submitted to. my_talks_linking_to_my_submission The conference name is a link to "my submission" page. In this page we have a selection box that point to all submission for the givene conference. We got an easy way to switch event as you've suggested. my_submission_per_conferences

I also had some trouble to find how to submit for an event when I was already focused on another (@corinnekrych helped me out, thanks! )

Another suggestion: what about having the event name (from the top bar) act as a dropdown list where we can switch to another event?
