Allowing also a second messages thread in each proposal for the selection committee would be nice too, it is very useful during the deliberations.

Thx, indeed this is a missing feature today and we will work on it:

  • message threads between organizers and speakers #358
  • message threads between organizers about a talk #200

Actually the communication organizer => speaker by email is good. but we're also missing speaker => organizer. If a speaker want s to give information or ask question during submission, the seapker can use the 'message to the committee.' altho I think an email notification will be more appropriate. Besides once the talk is submitted there is no way to edit this message.

Suggested feature: similar to the organizer thread, we could provide a speaker=>organizer threaded discussion? we could also provide email notification. @bpetetot wdyt? I can have a look at the implementation.

This feature was suggested by @rebeccaSimmonds19 during RivieraDEV cfp process.

Actually, you can revisit the message to committee afterwards by sbmitting again your modified talk. conf-hall What is not very intuitive is that you have to "submit" your talk again in order to change that communication. The feature is there, a bit hidden :) We missed a way to get the organizers notified tho.

Thanks for the feedback @corinnekrych

I'm currently working on the speaker <=> organizers communication feature, like the organizers <=> organizers thread (including email notifications)

And I'm agree that the "Update submission" process is not intuitive. That why I'm working on a new page for an event: "My submissions" (PR #428) This page will contain all speaker submissions for an event:

By selecting a submission (or from an email link), you will be able to see your talk as it was submitted, and from this page access to the speaker <=> organizers discussion, and also update your submission:

What do you think ?

One more feature explain in #584:

  • add a link to the speaker thread in the rejected and accepted email

I will prefer to be able to exchange with the speaker on the platform directly.

  1. It's easier to have all the conversation in one place, especially when you have a lot of proposals to handle.

  2. All the organisers can also saw the exchange and there is no need to introduce ourselves as the organisers identity as it's directly on the platform. As a bonus, no reply instead of reply all too.

Can open another feature request if needed :)
