SSID truncated on '-'
BT's routers in the UK have 2 SSIDs, the 2nd is 'BTWiFi-with-Fon' which is displayed as 'BTWiFi'. I can't immediately tell if this is just the display or if it's the app's internal record
Does the network use EAP authentication by any chance? EAP configurations are not (yet) supported in the app.
Edit: is the first SSID only "BTWiFi" or is there something else after it?
No, "BTWiFi-with-Fon" is open. There's 5 million of them - http://www.btwifi.com/find/ Some BT routers have a 3rd SSID "BTWiFi-X" which uses EAP, but I suspect that's not relevant.
And the SSID is correctly displayed when you go in the Android Wi-Fi Settings? (just to be sure)
It is, yes. It's not all hyphens though - the app is currently displaying an SSID with a hyphen that's using WPA2 PSK
