CONSTANT Crashing & Getting Worse
In the last 2 months this plug in has been causing CONSTANT crashes. I can acknowledge that OBS Studio it self is overdue for an update to fix similar issues, but this plug in has always caused crashes and its getting more frequent and worse. I have uninstalled and fresh wiped my OBS Studio 3 times in the last 2.5 months in an effort to fix my issues, thinking it was potentially a corrupted file. While doing this does seem to fix my issues for a short period of time, it never lasts long and I end up right back with the same issues.
In effort to give as much potentially helpful info for those having similar issues and looking to see if anyone else is and to potentially help with bug fixes I'll report my own issues here in detail; as I have yet to see anyone else do so. I'm using OBS Studio as well for future reference so as not to confuse those with Streamlabs or other software.
Issues:
- Sometimes OBS crashes instantly on launch. This is rarer but it is becoming more frequent over time.
- OBS Regularly crashes if I launch a game (in my case, most often Dead By Daylight on Steam) AFTER opening OBS first. I regularly have to launch the game I'm going to record or stream first. OBS also crashes more frequently if I launch a game AFTER going live/streaming and recording, but happens most often if I'm streaming.
- OBS regularly crashes if I launch my web browser (Opera GX), especially whilst Streaming or recording. More often when streaming.
- OBS frequently crashes if I change profiles/scene profiles. ( I have certain profile themes I switch between to keep my scene list and sources more organized).
- If OBS crashes while I am live streaming, I frequently have an issue where ALL audio appears to not work after relaunching the app and restarting the stream. On my end, all audio appears fine. My audio mixer is still working and showing there is sound, and that all sound sources are connected and reacting. They do not appear muted, however according to those in my chat there is absolutely no audio. No mic audio, game audio, music, etc. IT appears as if the entire stream is muted. The only fix for it seems to be turning stream off AGAIN, and restarting stream a 3rd time. If that doesn't work I have to close OBS, relaunch again, and restart stream AGAIN. If it comes to that point, usually the mic source it automatically muted when relaunching OBS when it previously wasn't.
- OBS sometimes deletes my Mic source. It completely disconnects my mic from my settings. This happens most often when getting multiple crashes during live streams.
That is all I can think of right now, but hopefully the info helps in some way. I really want to keep this plug in because it makes streaming and recording so much easier. I loath using voice-meter and really do not want to go back to it. Hoping we can get a patch soon, because there is no way this plug in isn't contributing to the constant crashing at least a little bit.
I can vouch for this, OBS is only opening on the second try for me. Also not sure if this correlates, but sometimes my Camlink isn't picked up as a source but it still exists in the devices menu

Same. After some time of use, obs starts to crash when closed. When the plugin is removed, the problem disappears.
Alas the solution for me was to buy a GoXLR. Would love to see someone get this fixed up in the future as it's a great plugin 👍
Expensive decision. It's really a pity that such a great plugin was abandoned.
