cannot open URLs with wayland/sway composer

I'm trying to run gurk in foot (a wayland terminal application) under sway compositor (in x86_64 Linux).. I can select URLs, but hitting "enter" has no effect. (I'd expect it to open a browser tab?).

sway is akin to a tiling window manager in the classical X11.

I also cannot select (with the mouse) the URL, or anything at all, in gurk - not sure this is by design or it's another bug.
