Enable drag and drop in content explorer

On opening the content explorer, users need to click the "+" button, then "Upload" before they can drag and drop files into content explorer. Also, they have to click"Upload" again, then "Close" before they are able to return to the main explorer view. Can these extra steps be eliminated? It's a better experience for users to be able to drag and drop like they would if they had a box embed widget.
