[Request]: Provide progress information on backup and restore (Bottles V51.24)
Tell us the problem or your need
Bottels currently does not provide any information to the user about the progress of back up and/or restore processes. Because backup files my be large sometimes (e.g. in my case 1,7 GB for a full archive) and my took some time to write/read, feed back to the user about the progress would be very helpfull.
Describe the solution you'd like
Minimal solution: promt information like: "Backup (resp. restore) started" "Backup (resp. restore) in progress (or still running)" with any graphical progress indicator "Backup (resp. restore) finished"
Other solutions?
Better solution: If file size and processing time can be calculated, a progess bar and the estimated time for backup/restore would even provide better information to the user.

I'd be willing to donate a few bucks, and if more ppl join the fun, maybe we can help speed up the entire process? I'm backing up several games right now, but not having a progress bar or indicator makes it really difficult.
I step up with this problem just now. I wonder if there's at least a way to check the progress using command line.
Having at least one indicator that a backup is in progress is so common, that when I didn't see one I thought there was a bug. It wasn't until I checked the folder and saw that the backup file was there... growing, that I realized that it is making the copy, but it doesn't tell you anywhere, it's so strange.
My copy is still there, at 4GB now, and with no clue as to how much is left.
Agreed, some minimal feedback about this absolutely necessary. The little progress circle in the top-right corner like when you're installing dependencies would do just fine.
To me the backup function is barely usable because I have no idea when or if the Bottles is finished backing up the bottle.
I'm currently importing a bottle from one system to the other. A progress bar or indicator would be very helpful.
I am using the disk read/write stats from the System Monitor to get some feedback as to whether the process is still running or stopped.
